Selena was born on April 16, 1971 in her beloved home town Lake Jackson Texas. Selena studied at The American School of Correspondence in Chicago, Illinois throughout her childhood. As a little child selena knew that singing was on her passions. Around the age of 10 Selena had her start and became the lead singer of her family`s band Selena Y Los Dinos. The band featured her brother Abraham on bass guitar and her sister Suzette on the drums.
Selenas father Abraham managed and produced their group. Selena had to learn Spanish to be able to sing the songs and once she leaned the lyrics she learned to speak Spanish fluently. Selena Y Los Dios started playing at restaurants and then ended up playing at big time stages. Selena eared her nickname "Mexican Madonna” “Queen of Tejano Music". During the height of her success she found her true love Chris Pérez. Chris Pérez was the guitarist in her band and once their eyes saw each other it was love at first sight.
Selena and her band went on to have huge hits such as “Como la flor “"Bidi Bidi Bom Bom". In 1987 at Tejano Music Award Selena won Best Female Vocalist of the Year and Performer of the Year. Selena`s Album, Ven Conmigo, was the first Tejano record to achieve gold record status. That album sold more than 500,000 copies. Selena started her own successful fashion line which brought in more fame. Selena opened doors of Mexican to all women. Selena was on her way to recording her crossover album until her dreams was crushed when her fan club president shot and killed her. The movie on Selena is based on a true story about a Mexican Girl who wanted to make it to the big time and the steps she would need to take in order to achieve her goal. This movie stays true to her actual role in society. Jenifer Lopez did an amazing job playing Selena in this movie. I have no complains about this movie. My favorite song from the movie is Como la Flor and I could fall in love.True brilliance 5 Stars*****
The movie would you rather came out in theaters on Feb 8, 2013. The movie runtime is around 1 hour 35 minutes. The genre of the movie is Drama, Horror, and Mystery & Suspense. This movie is written and directed by David Guy Levy and Steffen Schlachtenhaufen. Iris is a woman trying to provide for her terminally ill brother, but money plays a major issue in her life.
"Iris finds work at other places but it still wasn’t enough to care her brother. One day a mysterious man named Shepard Lambrick offered to help iris with her money problems.Shepard invites iris to an exclusive dinner party and she accepts his offer. When Iris arrives to the dinner party she notices other individual which causes suspicion. While everything is happening they find their selves trapped in the mansion and forced to play a deadly game called would you rather.
If you win the game you are rewarded with money and your life. As the game goes on people are dying and getting hurt. I would say that this movie was very interesting and vulgar. If you aren’t into vulgar and intense movies then this isn’t for you. I liked the movie very creative.
